He is an American soldier

That's what he wanted to be

To fight for his country

And to keep her free

He goes straight into battle

Not knowing if he going to die

His life he's willing to give

To protect you and I

I am honored and proud

Of this very young man

I just feel so sad

That people don't understand

He is doing this for us

And the nation that he loves

Laying over there in a foxhole

While shells are falling from above

Bullets are flying all around him

But he knows what is at stakes

Soldiers are dying each day

So we can live in United States

While he is over there fighting

He doesn't want to make a fuss

He just wants a little prayer

To be said by all of us

Something that's said every morning

With the men of his squad

I pledge with my life

To protect one nation under god

Land that we call America

To protect our wives and children

So that they can live freely

This I pray in your name Lord, Amen
